Search It! -- For SBIers Only
Note from Ken
Search It! ("SI!") is something that I started playing with, due to
my own needs, a couple of months ago. It began as a bunch
of special-search bookmarks, but that got a little sloppy --
more awkward than it was worth, as it grew.
So next... I
turned it into an informal collection of pre-programmed
advanced searches. This was super-useful. I found myself
doing searches that I often put off before, just being too
busy to figure out how to do them all over again.
Soon, I had collected so many in this little tool, that I
couldn't remember what some were supposed to be used for!
(Don't laugh... it happens to us all!). So
next came the ability to add some help notes to jog my
memory -- there are certain perks that come with being CEO.
One day, I realized that it was so useful, that my little
all-in-one search window was open 24 x 7, in the top left
corner of my monitor. And, of course, that's when it occurred to me. If I found
it useful, others would, too.
I use it at least 10 times per day,
often MUCH more. You'll see why when you try it. Speaking of trying it...
There are two ways to access Search It! ("SI!")...
1) The Public Version -- I highly recommend that you START
with this version. It has tutorials which you may find to be
useful reinforcement of parts of the Action Guide. Each tutorial explains how to get
the most out of its respective Search Type, also setting the
context for how this search fits into the C T P M
process of SBI!.
To use the public version, go to...
http://searchit.sitesell.com/
2) The Private Version -- Once you know Search It! well and
no longer want to see the tutorials, switch to this version.
The key differences presently are...
i) You are not limited to one search per 30 seconds.
ii) There are no tutorial pages -- instead, you are sent directly
to the results pages.
Please note... the tutorial pages really do
help crystallize much of SBI! for you, while
specifically showing you how to get the most
out of each individual Search Type. So make
the switch after 2 or 3 times through each.
I sincerely hope you enjoy this powerful little tool as much as
I do. I seem to find and add a great new search to it every few
days, and with ideas coming in at the Forum, it's bound to keep
getting better and better!
Enjoy... and profit.
All the best,
 President, SiteSell.com
P.S. Now let's get on with "the good stuff"...
Getting The Most Out Of Search It!
Each DAY, Every Step of the Way
So how do you use the SBI! version? Simple, login at...
http://login.sitesell.com/
Scroll down to the InfoCenter in Site Central. You will
see a "Search It!" button there. Click on it.
Take your time...
Read the help (including this all-important page)...
Get the feel of this terrific tool. Start with the first
Search Category, "Brainstorming" in the "---KEYWORDS---" section.
Select that
category's first "Search Type"... "Yahoo! (Overture) Keyword Selector Tool."
Then enter a search term that you know (you're not trying to
push the envelope yet, just get the feel for each Search
Type and the kinds of results it delivers).
Next... work your way through each Search Type in the
"Brainstorming" Category, repeating the above.
Do the same for each of the 20 categories, steadily trying
every Search Type that "belongs" to each category, such as
"Competition, "Where Are They," and so forth, all the way
through the 20 Search Categories.
Now that you know the tool... how does Search It! fit with
the 10 DAY C T P M process, the SBI! Action Guide, Brainstorm It!, and
the guru-in-your-ear online help? That depends on where you
are on the business-building SBI! pathway.
The following "where Search It! fits in" information is IMPORTANT.
Search It! should not distract you from the core C T P M
process. It should supplement when and where needed. And
THAT will depend on what stage you are at with SBII!...
1) SBI! Novice -- just starting your SBI! journey?
Focus your time and energy on understanding and doing the
10 DAY process (clearly outlined, step-by-step, in the SBI!
Action Guide). THAT is your primary goal.
Consider Search It! as a supplementary tool that you might use at certain
times, especially helpful for Brainstorming, Domain Names
and Creating PREselling content.
But... it's critical not to get side-tracked or fall prey to over-zealous information collection or "paralysis by analysis."
Trust the C T P M
process -- it's a logical, natural (and
proven!) way to build a successful online business. Success
with SBI! is really just a matter of "DOING IT!"
2) If you are beyond DAY 6 (say with 10+ pages built)...
Your business foundation is laid. Focus your efforts on
building MOMENTUM. That means creating more and more
PREselling CONTENT pages, properly SEO'd so they get
found at the engines. It's the continued building of...
C T P M...
Traffic (targeted visitors) builds...
PREselling starts to establish your "brand of one"...
Monetization begins!
Those relevant, high-value, information-packed content pages
that open your visitors' minds to your credible "solutions"
(i.e., your monetization offerings) are "where you're at."
And that means that the "Reference Library for Content" and
reminders in the Traffic-Building and PREselling categories
are especially useful for you. Aside from those useful
Search Types, though...
Right now,
Search It! plays a supplementary role. Build your
knowledge, blend with your passion, and you will have no
problems growing the necessary content at this stage.
3) Once your business-building foundation is well-established
and your traffic is soaring (putting you in the company of
so many SBIers in the Top 6% of Web sites on the Net)...
You know the SBI! process works! By this time,
you will have reviewed Search It! thoroughly (outlined above).
You should be using Search It! to
get great ideas for how to use it to build more
high-value PREselling content, grow entire new monetization
models, do competitive research and stay a step ahead. In
short, you'll use Search It! to super-enhance your already
effective business-building efforts.
SIDEBAR:
No matter WHAT stage you are at...
Use the tutorials of the "public version"
the first few times through all the Search
Types. They are instructive, will "fit" each
Search Type into the context of where you are
at, and will give you good ideas for how to
use each Search Type for best results.
And again, no matter what stage you are at...
Please do contribute at the new "Getting the
Most Out Of Search It!" forum in the
BRAINSTORMING category.
|
|
Now let's zoom in and see how Search It! fits into each DAY
of the 10-DAY SBI! process... where each DAY builds upon the
next to grow a genuine, solid business with profits AND equity.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Each of the 10 DAYs outlined below presents a tight summary
of the SBI! process. As mentioned, if you are just starting
out, THAT is your focus. Use Search It! judiciously.
If you are more advanced, you'll understand how Search It! fits
into the 10-DAY C T P M
process and be
able to use Search It! ever more wisely.
|
|
DAY 1 -- Master the Basics
The #1 take-home lesson here it to understand the C T P M
process, how and why it works...
http://SBItips.sitesell.com/index.html#MONETIZE
Search It! -- Choose "Traffic-Building and PREselling"
Category and "Take the PREselling Test" Search Type
SIDEBAR:
For future reference, we'll refer to a Search
It! Search Category and Type combination,
such as the above, in the following format...
Search Category (STEP 1) > Search Type (STEP 2)
For example...
Competition > Yahoo! Bid Price
This refers to the "Yahoo! Bid Price" Search Type within the "Competition" Search Category.
|
|
TIP: When first using Search It!,
the tutorial is the best way to understand what each Search Type does, and to see how
this powerful tool fits into
the C T P M process. So use the "public" version first.
Once you know Search It!, switch to the private SBI! version.
DAY 2 -- Develop Best Site Concept
How will you recognize your "best site concept?" It will excite you AND have solid profit
potential. Think "passion" and "knowledge". Find a niche
that you CAN master -- there's lots of room for more than
one player in any niche, but you must do it well and spin
it (position it) so that you "own your space."
Already have a business (offline or on)?... Think of how you'll position
your SBI! site such that it maximizes its returns.
Check out potential site concepts/positioning by using Brainstorm It! as explained in DAY 2 of the Guide. AND use ALL the
Search Types in the Keyword Brainstorming and Keyword
Competition Categories to get your niche just right...
... not too broad (a highly competitive, expensive battle)
... not too narrow (not enough market to sustain profits).
Brainstorming > Review all Search Types (the Yahoo! tools
are especially useful for DEMAND data)
Competition > Competition - Yahoo! Bid Price
Competition > Google Single Keyword SUPPLY
Competition > Google Multiple Keyword SUPPLY
Comparing SUPPLY to DEMAND for your keywords points to PROFITABILITY.
Your site blueprint is starting to take shape.
DAY 3 -- Brainstorm Profitable Topics
Brainstorm It! excels here. Do a complete Brainstorm as outlined for DAY 3 of the Action Guide. Find
keywords from that, the few that
would be suitable for side branching your Brainstorms (ex.,
a "cholesterol" brainstorm may bring back "heart disease"
which you side-brainstorm on -- you are heading towards a
domain like "cholesterol-and-your-heart.com").
Supplement BI!'s brainstorm results with Search It!'s
"Keyword Brainstorming"...
Brainstorming > Review all Search Types (the Yahoo! tools
are especially useful for DEMAND data)
Run through all its Search Types -- save the best words (in a
separate file for now), along with relevant data. Next...
Check "Keyword Competition"...
Competition > Yahoo! Bid Price
If a word is too expensive at Yahoo! Search Marketing, it may be tough to win
a battle for it. Consider going a bit
"nichier" -- you can still make money off those expensive
words by winning the war for a whole bunch of niche words.
Continue with your competitive analysis...
Competition > Google Single Keyword SUPPLY
Competition > Google Multiple Keyword SUPPLY
Note that the Google Multiple Keyword SUPPLY is invaluable
for bringing back SUPPLY data for all keywords, in a single stroke.
Now that you have a bunch of new keywords, keep the ones that...
- fit well with your developing theme
- you know about -- it's important to be able to OVERdeliver solid content ("PREselling")
- are profitable (good DEMAND to SUPPLY ratio).
Add those best new keywords, and related data, to Brainstorm It's Master
Keyword List.
DAY 4 -- Plan Monetization Options
SBI! started as an affiliate tool. But it has grown into
a full-fledged, only-one-of-its-kind solution that provides
both a logical, powerful process (CTPM) but also all the
tools to execute... no matter what your business is.
Just starting out?...
If you think you want to be "an affiliate" or "do eBay" or
"build a Network Marketing business" or "grow my local
dentist practice," GREAT!
But there are MANY MORE ways to
convert C T P, into M. A diversified business is a bigger,
more stable growing business. Review the following URL
again, but now investigate EVERY monetization option...
http://SBItips.sitesell.com/index.html#MONETIZE
For some monetization ideas, use Search It!...
Monetization > Preview Google AdWords
Monetization > What Are Your Keywords Worth?
Monetization > Find Affiliate Programs
Monetization > Let eBay Help You
DAY 5 -- Refine Site Concept and Register Domain Name
By now, your brainstorming, keyword research, comparing and
weighing, monetization research and planning should have led
you to a pretty good site concept. Your "VPP" ("Valuable PREselling
Proposition") should be
well-developed.
This "spin" or unique
positioning is one of your most important decisions. Everything,
including your PREselling voice, follows from it.
Be specific... the nichier the better (except extremes).
By now, you should definitely have read MYCPS! --
good PREselling is critical to your success. And you don't do that after you've
written the Content. You don't even do it DURING. You plan it before you
finalize and prepare what your Content will be. Good PREselling means...
1) write to COMMUNICATE
2) develop your own "voice" with flair and substance
3) spin your site/biz/SELF into a unique position
4) HONESTLY convince people to trust and like you.
No other book in the world shows you how to do this. If you have not already
done so, go to the InfoCenter at Site Central. Download and read it now.
Register your domain.
Your domain
name should...
- be consistent with your VPP
- contain your most important keyword (for the engines), AND
- be attractive to humans (ex., "anguilla" is there for the engines and "beaches" is there for humans = anguilla-beaches.com).
Make it as short as possible, meaningful, classy, and YOU!
Time for some "---NAME IT---" Search Categories to help you with this...
Domain Names > DomainsBot Domain Namer
Domain Names > Check Domain Availability
Site Legalities > Trademark Check(s)/Scan
DAY 6 -- Build A Site That Gets the Click
No HTML experience? Use the block-by-block SiteBuilder.
HTML wiz? Push your DreamWeaver/FrontPage/etc. and PhotoShop to the
limits.
Either way, build a Theme-Based Content Site that
both gets the click because your site is found at the SEs
(thanks to the "Analyze It! module and step-by-step SEO help)...
AND that gets the "monetization click" as your content
PREsells visitors.
Blend in a diversified portfolio of Monetization models
(ex., e-store, Google ads, profession, affiliate programs, Network Marketing leads,
local business/services, finder's fees, etc.).
Use SI! to help you build more and more content...
The Reference Library for Content contains an unparalleled collection of
encyclopedias, archives, news and syndications... even Bartleby's quotations (when
you need that certain "je ne sais quoi" touch of class!
Don't miss the important tutorials for the Reference Library
-- do more than just pour words onto the
Internet. Build CONTENT that PREsells. In other words,
develop trust and confidence in your pre-customer by
delivering relevant, original, high-value information.
Note, too, that the special media search engines can provide
some flair and pizazz for your site...
Search - Images - Video - Sounds > Try them all!
Now is also the time to review...
Traffic-Building and PREselling > Take the Traffic Test
Traffic-Building and PREselling > Take the PREselling Test
Later, of course, use SI! to watch for content thieves...
Site Legalities > Find URL Thieves
DAY 7 -- Build Traffic Momentum
Nothing on the Net, anywhere, anyway, anyhow, offers the set
of submission/re-submission, spider-tracking, list-checking
and rank-reporting tools, for both SEs and directories, that
SBI! does. It doesn't stop there...
Keyword Searches Reports and Click Analysis (both IN and OUT) are two
more powerful, and unique, ways to track and improve. And, once your
site is 20 pages or more, use Value Exchange to help build
incoming links.
It all adds up to why your site, like over
half of SBI! sites, is likely to end up in the Top 6% on the
WWW! Best of all... no tedious submitting/tracking, etc.
And SI! helps here, too. The
"---SITE RESEARCH---" categories, Popularity, Vital Statistics, Similar/Related, Indexed Pages, Back Links all provide highly useful Search Types that supplement and
augment. Be sure to review the tutorials associated with each Search Type
contained within each category.
Another useful tool......
Metasearch > Yahoo!-Google Overlap
... don't miss the tutorial.
Oh... and don't forget to build your own buzz. Use the Search Types in
Discussions/Groups to find discussion groups that
cover your topic. Become a regular and build your own
brand and buzz. Use it, too, for competitive research. As
always, see the tutorial for each Search Type.
DAY 8 -- Build Relationships... Publish Your Own E-zine/Other PREsellers
An e-zine is the ultimate "reminder." Even if you merely
send out a monthly "content update," stay in front of those
who have enjoyed your site. Offer a subscription and
publish a zine. In addition to e-zines, consider Form
Build It! (FBI!)... a powerful, versatile tool that has been
used to monetize in an amazingly wide variety of ways.
Think about how YOU could use FBI! to monetize YOUR
business... generate leads for your Network Marketing
business... send visitors to a real estate agent... cause
visitors to contact you for information about the services
you offer. It's limitless.
With FBI! in mind, review this URL one more time ...
http://sbitips.sitesell.com/index.html#MON
Then review all of SI!'s "Monetization" Search Types, but pay
special attention to...
Monetization > Let eBay Help You
Remember... these entrepreneurs ARE monetizing, for the exact
Search Term you entered. Wow! Thousands of people working
for you, giving away their secrets.
Day 9 -- Know Your Visitors... Keep Getting Better
Now that business is starting, all those SBI! reporting
tools let you truly KNOW your visitor... and how your site
is doing.
Review the SE reports in the SE HQ. Same for the Directory HQ.
Traffic Stats and Keyword Searches
Report -- where are your visitors coming from, how are you
being found?
Click IN and THROUGH Analysis Reports make it
easy to monitor your site's traffic pulse.
By now, you will be an accomplished user of SI!.
You will use Search Categories such as Popularity, Vital Statistics, Similar/Related, Indexed Pages, and Site Research - Back Links in more advanced ways (explained in each Search Type's online tutorial, at the time you need it!).
They are invaluable for two major reasons...
a) track how your site is doing/perceived in the marketplace
b) watch your competitors, build new alliances/etc.
SIDEBAR:
Search It! includes two "---ADVANCED
SEARCH---" Categories as well, that do NOT present tutorials -- Straight Up and Metasearch. Within those two categories, only the...
Metasearch > Yahoo!-Google Overlap
... Search Type has a tutorial page. The rest are
advanced-but-straightforward searches. They are
here to save you time.
If you try all the engines, with all the permutations
that Search It! provides, you will become
an advanced searcher for general information, too.
And that, while not immediately connected to
building your SBI! business, can only be a
good thing.
|
|
DAY 10 -- Monetize and Monetize It!
Now, your site is ready to convert those ever-increasing numbers of PREsold visitors into income. How? By blending together your primary monetization model with a few others, in order to create a diverse, stable online business.
Add each income stream one at a time, weeks or months apart. Assess each one. Optimize it. Keep building content while you focus on building more targeted traffic for your primary monetizer.
Would you like to know exactly how valuable certain keywords are (especially useful information if you are using Google AdSense one of your income-generators)? These two searches would be helpful...
Monetization > What Are Your Keywords Worth?
Competition > Yahoo! Bid Price
Since Yahoo! Search Marketing sells keywords on a Pay-Per-Click basis similar to Google AdWords/AdSense, a high dollar value at Yahoo! reflects a similar value at Google. (Google does not provide these numbers, except to advertisers.) The higher the bid price, the more money you'll make when someone clicks on an Ad on one of your Keyword-Focused Content Pages.
Bottom line about implementing your monetization plans?
Effective monetizing is a constantly evolving process. Periodically evaluate your monetization strategies to ensure that you are still in sync with the needs of your target audience.
Once you reach 30 pages on your site, SBI! gives you the tools necessary to build cost-effective lists of keywords. Use the Monetize It! (MI!) module to...
1) Build new Content (no matter what, build more Content!). MI!'s Content-Building module helps you find "content holes." It uncovers valuable ("high-Keyworth") keywords for which you should create more content, as well as how/where to get more out of existing content.
2) Sell advertising (if you are selling ads -- "sell high"). Do you place Google AdSense or Yahoo! ads on your site? MI!'s Ad-Selling module helps you maximize ad revenues. MI! shows you where to place ads and where not to. It even shows whether a Google or Yahoo! ad is better for each high-profit Keyword-Focused Content Page.
3) Build PPC campaigns (if you are buying PPC -- "buy low"). Find cheap, targeted keywords for PPC campaigns (at Google AdWords and/or Yahoo! Search Marketing) that drive more targeted traffic to your high-ROI goods & services.
|
And there you have it... the 10 DAY process of SBI!
gift-wrapped for you into a single article and all tied
together with a nice big bow called "Search It!."
Search It! really does convert you into a BUSINESS
POWER-SURFER, no matter what stage you are at. If you are
early in SBI!'s C T P M
process, use it wisely -- be careful
not to get distracted from the 10 DAY process outlined in
the Action Guide -- the Guide WORKS, so don't stray off a
path that is proven true.
Bottom line -- realize the full potential of the Web!
FINAL TIP: As you gain in SBI!
experience... if you're not
leaving Search It! open on your screen and doing at least 5 searches per day... force yourself to, until it's a habit.
The Net is the most amazing collection of information in the
history of the world. If you're not tapping into it, you're
missing out.
Enjoy... and profit. And share...
