Uploading Your Own HTML Pages
If you want to build part or all of your Site Build It! site with your own HTML editor (ex., FrontPage, DreamWeaver, etc.), instead of using the SiteBuilder tool, you've come to the right place!
Read the rest of this help page. It's important.
First, if you are not an accomplished HTML designer, familiar
with HTML and an editor like DreamWeaver, then STOP. Don't
go any further. Instead, please follow the SBI! Action Guide and use
the SiteBuilder tool -- it's a wonderful, easy-to-use
way to build real Web pages that rank high with the Search Engines.
DreamWeaver (FrontPage, etc.) will not give you better traffic results.
Ultimately, once you understand the SBI!
process and become comfortable using some HTML (we'll show you, a bit at
a time), you may want to learn how to use an HTML editor like DreamWeaver.
You will have more design flexibility and greater productivity
(i.e., be able to create more Web pages per unit time).
But for
now... it's more important to "do the SBI!
process" and use SiteBuilder to start a successful Web site. It is not the
right time to be learning HTML and a heavy tool like DreamWeaver. It is
the right time to succeed!
On the other hand, if you are "good at HTML" and know how to
use an HTML editor well, then keep on reading. Note that the
language will get more technical -- we assume you know what
you're doing. And also, note that we can't support HTML pages
that "don't work." Like any Web host, it's not possible for us
to act as HTML or javascript (etc.) consultants. Unlike any Web host,
once you deliver the page (within our "integration guidelines"),
we do guarantee the traffic!
If you do use an HTML editor, you may decide to build your
entire site "from scratch," using your own HTML pages. That's
fine, as long as you follow the SBI!
Integration Guidelines (more on this in a second).
Want To Transition From SiteBuilder To Your Own HTML?
Have you started your SBI!
site using SBI!'s block-by-block SiteBuilder? Do you want
to take the "training wheels" off and use your own HTML editor?
You probably do not want to re-do your entire site -- no need for a "make work" project.
So we'll give you a "transition template" that is based upon your
current block-built SBI! pages. It enables you
to build a Web page, using an HTML editor, that is identical to your block-built pages.
Use the template with your HTML editor and increase your rate of solid content creation (i.e., more pages per day).
Or, if you prefer, you can design
your own template/look and feel with your
HTML editor and graphic software. It's all under your control!

And with that introduction, we leave you with one final warning... if you don't know HTML, STOP now.
If you do, start by clicking the Upload Your Own HTML Page button
in the One Page at a Time section. This is where you will begin,
starting with the SBI! Integration Guidelines.
One last thing before you begin...
All successful SBI! sites are built upon the solid foundation of research and preparation outlined in the SBI! Action Guide. Most critically, the use of your own HTML editor pages does not diminish the importance of the preparatory work required for a successful site.
In other words, please don't rush into building your site without a thorough understanding of the process that makes SBI! the foundation of so many successful Web sites.
Provided you are familiar with the SBI! process, have read the Action Guide, and are confident that your site has all the makings for profit, you're ready to continue...
